Accidentally left my keys inside my apartment while taking my dog out, they were quick to answer the phone and let me know that they were on their way. Avy was incredibly kind and dedicated when my electronic lock system presented some challenges he did not give up and got me back inside my warm apartment ASAP. Thank you, Avy!
Avy is seriously the best! He is seriously knowledgeable about his craft and takes time to explain to you what is wrong, and how he can make it work properly. I HIGHLY recommend Avy for your residential lock needs. I trust his work and really felt like he was honest and genuine throughout the entire process. I could also really tell how motivated and passionate he was to do the best job possible. Do yourself, and your locks, a favour and give him a call!
Avy was professional, quick, and skilled. We had our entire new home re-keyed within an hour. Now all the locks work better and the home is safer!
Avy was here on a Sunday in 45 min. Opened up my car and made me a key in less than an hour. Highly recommend when you’re in a pinch.
Avy performed high-quality work. He arrived right on time and solved our problems quickly and even helped tighten another door. We will definitely hire him again if we have anymore problems. Thanks Avy!
Check Out Some Of Our Most Popular Locksmith Services
One of the most common reasons people call locksmiths is a car lockout. There are dozens of ways you can lose access to the interior of your car or trunk. Many people lose their keys while out on the town and return to a remote parking lot with no way to get into their cars. Or, their keys are stolen or somehow get bent or broken, rendering them non-functional. In cold climates, it’s not unusual for older keys to break off when placed into a lock and turned. If you’ve ever tried getting a piece of a key out of a lock, you know how frustrating it can be. Whatever the reason you find yourself unable to get into your car, our team can and will get you in as soon as we arrive, which is typically just a few minutes after you contact us.
Ignition Cylinder Replacement and Repair
Car ignition systems are finicky little devices. Most people have experienced a stuck or frozen ignition in winter time. When motorists are out and about, they often return to cold cars and are faced with an ignition that won’t turn. Sometimes the thing simply “eats” your car key by breaking it in half. Now, you’re having to deal with a broken ignition system and no key. Our team has years of experience with fixing and replacing all makes and models of ignition systems, even frozen ones with keys jammed inside them. We extract keys, fix or replace the ignition, cut you a fresh key on the spot, and send you on your way. Don’t worry if your ignition system decides to stop working. We work 24/7 and will be there when you need us.
Emergency House Lockouts
Probably the second-most frequent reason people call locksmiths, a house lockout can be a major safety issue for many people. If you need to get back into your home to turn off an appliance or engage a security alarm system, being locked out can be a major hassle. These lockouts tend to happen when homeowners return from long trips and have misplaced their house keys. They’re often left standing, in the middle of the night, with a ton of luggage and no way to get into their own home. If this happens to you, call a member of our emergency response team and we’ll get you in immediately.
Smart locks are worth their weight in gold to homeowners and business managers who rely on these high-tech devices to provide an extra layer of security. They’re not easy to install and if you aren’t accustomed to working with them, it’s even possible to install them incorrectly. Then you might have to deal with an unexpected lockout or a lock “that won’t lock.” We install smart locks every day of the week and know all the makes and models. Some are highly complex, but once they’re in, they offer added security for any building or residence. Our team can install any smart lock in minutes and give you the peace of mind that comes with high-tech door locking systems.
Repair and Unlocking of Safes
Security safes are a major component of any business that has sensitive documents that must be kept on location for various legal reasons. When you can’t get into your office safe, you need to call a locksmith right away. It’s not wise to attempt to “crack” the safe yourself, regardless of what you’ve seen in movies. If you try, you can permanently damage the safe’s locking system and render it useless. Our locksmiths are familiar with all brands and models of security safes and can get you in without damaging the unit or its contents. Don’t risk going it alone. Call our service whenever you lock yourself out of a safe or need it repaired. We’ll be able to tell you if an old safe can be fixed, thus potentially saving you the price of a new one.
Reprogramming and Repair of Digital Locks
Key extraction is part art, part science. Our team has truly seen it all and knows exactly how to remove a piece of a key, or an entire, jammed key, from any lock without damaging the car’s paint job and without further harming the locking system. It takes a high degree of technical skill to accomplish a proper key extraction, but our experts are fully equipped to face any extraction job you present to us.
Most commonly, key extraction is needed when cold weather or a malfunctioning lock “eats” a key, causing it to break off. The motorist is then left with a useless half-key in hand, another useless piece of metal inside the lock, and a non-functioning car door. We deal with this common situation every day.
Luxury Automotive Assistance
Some of the higher-end luxury cars on the market these days include very sophisticated locking mechanisms and super-secure devices to thwart thieves. We are one of the few locksmith services that cater to all cars in existence, even luxury models with top-notch security systems. We also offer a full menu of roadside assistance for luxury cars.
When owners of luxury vehicles call us, they often ask whether we can get them into their cars, reprogram their transponders or otherwise help them with a lock-related problem. They’re often surprised when we show up in a matter of minutes and deal with their situation quickly and efficiently. Whether you drive a Jaguar, BMW, Mercedes or a classic car of any vintage, our locksmiths can repair, replace or otherwise deal with the security system and get you back on the road in no time.
Frequently Asked Questions
When are you open?
Denver Locksmiths is Open 24 a day 7 days a week even on Holidays.
What if I can’t verify that the car/house/office is mine or I should be in there?
We will need a letter of authorization from the owner of the car/house/office. If you cannot provide identification, or authorization we will not help you. I am sure the other car, home and office owners will appreciate your cooperation.
Do I need to change my locks or just need my existing locks rekeyed?
Clarification, Changing locks is taking the whole lock, knob/lever, latch and strick and replacing it. Rekeying a lock is taking the existing lock cylinder (leaving the rest) and changing it so that your existing key will no longer work and a new one will. Note, most of the time you will just want your locks rekeyed.
Can you bill my insurance company?
No, you pay us directly and your insurance company will reimburse you if it is in your policy.
What information do you need when I call?
What is your name? – What is your exact Address? – Are you the owner of the car, house or office? – How soon do you need it? – Is this a good number to call you back at?
Will my lock still work after you open it?
Yes, picking a lock or opening a car does not damage the lock or car. Note, the exception is if the lock is damaged or needs to be drilled. Then the lock will need to be replaced.
Are you a bonded and insured locksmith?
Yes. Denver Locksmiths is licensed, bonded and insured, as well as a member of the ALOA (Associate Locksmiths of America) Security Professionals Association, Inc.
Are all locks able to be picked?
No, not all locks are able to be picked. Some residential and commercial locks are high-security and pick resistant.
Do you keep normal hours?
No, “normal” is not the word, because we never close our doors. We are always open, 365 days per year, 7 days a week, 24 hours each day.
How do I verify that I own the home?
We’ll need ID from you that shows the address on it. Otherwise, we won’t be able to help you at that time.
What is better, re-keying or replacement of locks?
Usually, re-keying works for most homeowners in the majority of situations. Replacement is full change-out of the entire lock mechanism, while re-keying is just a change of the cylinder. Whatever you choose, we’ll make new keys for the lock and give them to you before our teams leave.
Do you do direct insurance billing?
No, we don’t. But, we will give you a clear, accurate receipt so you can file a claim with your insurer.
When I phone you, what data will I have to provide?
Standard information like full name, address, phone, and when you want us to arrive. Plus, we will of course ask whether you are the owner of the home.
After you get me in, will my lock be in workable condition?
Yes. Picking doesn’t harm locks. However, if we have to drill, or if the lock mechanism was damaged before we arrived, you might need a new lock.
Are your technicians bonded?
They’re bonded, licensed, comprehensively trained, background-checked, and fully insured. Every one of our employees are members in good standing of the ALOA. That’s the “Associated Locksmiths of America,” Security Professionals Association, Inc.
Is it possible to pick any lock?
No. There are some high-security residential locking mechanisms and systems that are virtually resistant to all attempts to pick them.
What are your hours of operation?
We never close. Our teams work around the clock, 7 days per week, 365 days per year, never taking off for holidays, which means we’re there for our customers whenever they need us.
How can I verify that I am the owner of a vehicle, home, office, or safe?
For your protection, we need proof of ownership. If you are not the owner (for example if you’ve locked yourself out of an office owned by someone else), we need authorization from the owner. In all cases, you need to provide proof of identification for yourself.
Should I have my locks re-keyed or completely replaced?
Replacement means removing the entire lock and putting another one in its place. Re-keying means changing the cylinder and leaving everything else. Both services will require a new key to open the new or re-keyed lock. In most cases, re-keying is all people need.
Can you send the bill directly to my insurer?
You’ll need to pay us directly and file a claim with your insurer if you have coverage.
When I contact your office, what info do I need to provide?
We’ll need your name, proper address, and a good phone number for reaching you. Also, we’ll ask whether you’re the owner of the vehicle, office, or residential home, and how soon you want us to arrive.
After you open my locked car, office, or home, will the lock still work?
Of course. Our technicians are professionals who gain access without damaging the existing lock mechanism. However, if we need to do drilling or the lock is already damaged, you won’t be able to use it after we get you in. You’ll need a new lock in those rare situations.
Are your workers insured and bonded?
Not only insured and bonded but background-checked and fully licensed. All of our technicians are members of the Associated Locksmiths of America, Security Professionals Association, Inc., also known as ALOA.
Can any locks be picked?
No. Some models of commercial and residential locks come with high-security components that make them extremely resistant to being picked.
